Rail Case Study
Eldapoint has supported the rail industry providing; Relocatable Equipment Buildings (REBs) and Modular Equipment Housings (MEHs) for many years. Our turnkey approach assisted a tier one trackside contractor who required a number of buildings to house equipment for the electrical upgrade of the east midlands rail link.
An understanding of landscape, use and security were critical to our client.
Meeting their objectives for the containers, delivering in challenging circumstances and working to agreed budgets is something that has them returning to Eldapoint.
Although all equipment housings for track side equipment must meet the standards set by the Rail Industry each tier one contractor has their own specific requirements when it comes to the finer details including internals and finish. Our client appreciated our in-depth knowledge of the industry to guide them from a legislative perspective but also that our delivery was flexible enough to accommodate their direct requirements. Logistics of the units was another area we supported the client.
Approach and Solutions
Although each unit for the rail industry needs to meet the required 1615D standards, this project and others has benefitted from our modular approach. Bespoke solutions whilst meeting legislation.
From design to site installation, we worked closely with the client and provided a number of solutions that were driven by the site locations and the needs of the individuals accessing each unit.
On agreement of each, our manufacturing division produced detailed AUTOCAD drawings, ensuring agreed specification would be met, with no surprises.
Early involvement of our team in the project was advantageous for the client, with all logistics planning in place and pre delivery site surveys completed.
As a full cycle service for the client, Eldapoint managed every area of the project and had open communication wit the client throughout.
Our agreed build and development process, along with delivery programme aligned with all other site activities, provided the client with a structured plan to what, when and how.
As an experienced supplier to the rail industry our client had confidence that Eldapoint and each of our specialist divisions could deliver for them. Our process plans and managed throughout the project has seen the client return for a number of additional units.
The rail industry requires a solutions provider who fully understands the challenges, health and safety and service continuity that allows them to seamlessly integrate units without disruption.
